MÓNICA RAMÍREZ: As a spectator, what I thought about was the fact that there were little girls all around the country who are watching them in all their glory and all of their grace, and seeing them really lean into their power. And that's what I kept thinking about. Like, yes, there was a very important issue that they were bringing to the forefront. But, really, to me, it was more about the fact that we had to figure out a way to amplify what they were doing as leaders because there were other children, you know, girls and boys who are looking at them, and we needed to make sure they were being treated as champions who are being seen and celebrated.

I felt like we had already won in a lot of ways because they were being seen, because little children could look up to them, and because we could talk about the fact that they took a brave step so that other people could later have the opportunity to play on a winning team or to be paid fairly at work.
