Cooking is more fun with colorful cookware. But it’s not always affordable. Le Creuset can run you hundreds of dollars for a single Dutch oven — same goes for trustworthy French brand Staub. But Great Jones, a women-owned- and-operated cookware brand, makes most of its colorful cookware under $100.

Sierra Tishgart and Maddy Moelis founded Great Jones in 2018 after they “struggled to find the right kitchen tools,” according to their website.

The name “Great Jones” was inspired by Judith Jones, a cookbook author and editor who published works by Julia Child and James Beard, amongst others. The name is also a nod to New York City, where the business is located (Great Jones is a street in the NoHo neighborhood).

“We’re on a mission to empower home cooks, and help you feel prepared and proud to tackle any recipe,” the Great Jones website says, where the brand also provides recipes and tips.

Great Jones cookware is sold exclusively online. There, you can find cookware and bakeware sold à la carte, or in slightly discounted sets.

One of its most popular items is its 6 3/4-quart Dutch oven, aptly called The Dutchess. It comes in seven colors for $155.

However, you can also get the The Dutchess as part of the Family Style set with two stainless steel fry pans, a sauce pan and a stock pot for $398. You’ll save $80 with the bundle.

You may notice that all Great Jones products have fun, cheeky names. Take Holy Sheet for a baking sheet or Breadwinner for a loaf pan, for example. Although the names sound silly and the products are colorfully chic, don’t be fooled. This is some seriously great cookware and bakeware.
