Woman's Story of Taking in Surrendered Dog From Devasted Owner Brings Us to Tears

We can't imagine how difficult this would be.

Sometimes, shelter dogs are put in horrible positions because of thoughtless or malicious people. There are also times when an owner does their very best to care for their buddy, but things just don't work out. It can be difficult to imagine being in that position, but that's precisely what @call_me_mrs_gallagher witnessed when she was approached by a young man named Lukas.

As the TikTok user explains, Lukas asked her to care for Roy, his young dog. Lukas had lost his apartment and was forced to move back home, where his poor pup did not receive a warm welcome.

We're so sorry you were in that position Lukas, but we hope you get to see Roy and how well he's doing. Your difficult decision allowed the pup to live his very best life with Mrs. Gallagher!

"Lukas thank you for being the man your dad was not," wrote commenter @cindersmella13. "Your loving heart saved this life." Exactly! It couldn't have been easy for anyone involved, but it was the right thing to do.

A comment from @ceecee4093 left us nearly as teary-eyed as the video itself. They wrote, "If you are Lukas from Lansing, I hope you got rescued too." We all do! Everyone deserves to be comfortable, loved, and welcomed in their home, whether they have two legs or four.

Mrs. Gallagher updated everyone with a comment: "Hey everyone!!! The local news wants to interview me!!" We can't wait to see how it goes! We haven't seen anything about the interview yet, but we hope it gives Lukas an opportunity to see and reconnect with his old pal.
