Woman's Story of Her Pet Sitter Losing Her Dog Is So Disheartening
Thousands of pet owners turn to Rover to find a dog sitter or walker. It’s a great tool to use when you’re going on vacation or if you need someone to walk your dog while you're at work. Although, it's also nerve-wracking finding someone you can trust to watch your fur babies.
TikTok user @ourlittleroadschool recently had a very disheartening experience with her Rover dog sitter. She got a call from a random number and what this person tells her will leave you speechless. Check it out.

O.M.G. What?! We are completely shocked that the dog sitter hasn’t called in over four hours to let this poor woman know her dog went missing. At least there is a silver lining to this story that a stranger found her dog and they were reunited, but still. We can't believe this happened.
This experience is leaving TikTokers speechless and nervous to use Rover again. But it sounds like Rover is handling the situation well, at least we think so. This TikToker did end up contacting Rover, which she said in a follow-up video. Rover refunded her the money and is opening up a case and looking into this incident. She also said the sitter did finally get in touch with her after about 6 hours of having her dog. Others were concerned something happened to the sitter, but luckily everyone is safe and the dog is too. We just hope this never happens again.
So what is one to do when you don’t trust Rover after this incident and no friends or family members are able to help you? One TikToker suggested, “Vet techs from your local vet. We are always willing to help and we need the money. Plus, we know what to do if something goes wrong with your pet.” That’s such a great idea!
