Woman's 'Mansion' for Her Hamster Must Be Seen to Be Believed

Some creative pet owners go above and beyond to build something cute for their animal--just like hamster owner @tryn_lee did when she built her buddy their very own 'mansion.' Barbie would be jealous of this hamster's dream house!

Woah--just look at this set up! We never would've thought to create a hamster mansion out of a doll house and several hamster tubes and lookouts. That only proves how creative @tryn_lee is, though whether or not the hamster house can actually be used is a different story.
"Dude everybody tryna evict this hamster because of requirements don’t meet," said commenter @thatsoottrapper. Oof! As cringe as that is, it's unfortunately true. This hamster dream house is adorable AF, but it may not provide its resident with all the space they need.
Though each official source has slightly different hamster cage size recommendations, it's best to stick with a 2-square foot wire cage or a 12 by 24 inch aquarium. Hamsters also need several inches of bedding to burrow in and sleep on, as well as a secure location for their food and water.
As another commenter noticed, there could be height concerns with multi-layer hamster enclosures, especially if they were designed and put together at home. These animals are incredibly small, so even a short fall could severely hurt a pet hamster.
Instead of DIY-ing their home, though, you can try adding pet-safe decorations to a larger enclosure. Not only is this safer for the hamster, but it gives you more creative control, too!
