Got carpeted stairs? They can be absolute heck to clean, and no one wants to waste their time constantly climbing up and down or dragging a vacuum behind them to make sure their stairs are spic and span. But what if there was an easier way to do things while still getting spotless stairs? There is, thanks to SixberHomeDecor over on Pinterest!

I know for many people carpeted stairs might be a thing of the past, but personally, I actually prefer them to wooden stairs. While they might be less aesthetically pleasing to some, I find it a lot easier to walk down them, and they tend to dampen sound a bit more than simply wooden stairs.

But, at the same time, even I can admit that they can get pretty dirty over time.

Luckily there is an easy solution and it doesn't involve dragging out a vacuum cleaner, but instead, something much lighter. You are going to want to follow this creator's mix of warm water, baking soda, and dish soap as well as grab yourself a pot lid and a wash cloth.

First, mix up your cleaning solution following the measurements in the video, then make sure you soak your wash cloth so that it soaks up the mixture. Wring it out so that it isn't dripping wet, then tie it around your pot lid. From there you will simply go to your stairs and start scrubbing.

The soapy mixture helps clean any stains and pull up bad smells, while the cloth itself helps contain everything as well as pick up any hairs or dirt left behind. You may find yourself having to rinse and retie the cloth every once in a while, but in the end you should have a nice looking and great smelling set of stairs to walk on once more!
