It’s no secret that Donald Trump doesn’t really have a firm grasp of Latinx culture. The Republican nominee announced his presidency calling Mexicans rapists, criminals, and drug pushers. For Cinco De Mayo, he tweeted a photo of himself eating a taco bowl with the caption, “I love Hispanics!” And just last week when discussing immigration reform during the final presidential debate, Trump said, “We have some bad hombres here” as a justification for a border wall.

So naturally, his children wouldn’t have a great sense of Latinx culture or language either and we have proof.

On Friday, during a campaign rally stop, Eric Trump unknowingly posed for photos with a Latina protestor wearing a t-shirt saying, “Latina against Trump” in Spanish.

The story behind the unbelievable photo is amazing. After a bit of back and forth, Cuban sisters Annie and Ceci Cardelle decided to peacefully protest an Eric Trump rally in their hometown of Salisbury, North Carolina. The sister who ended up wearing the memorable t-shirt was initially against attending the rally. Annie told Buzzfeed News, “I didn’t want to go hear Eric Trump speak, but she [Ceci] really wanted to, so I couldn’t just go without making a little bit of a statement.” Annie’s “little statement” became viral within hours.

“I started getting nervous because everyone there was so excited and I thought, Gosh, they’re going to get so angry if I protest this,”Annie confessed.

Well, no one noticed. In fact, they asked the sisters if they wanted to take a photo with Eric Trump.

“I was sort of in disbelief when they actually called us forward,” Ceci said. “I was like, ‘This is not happening. There’s no way they don’t see this shirt.”

It seems Eric Trump didn’t see the shirt since he unknowingly snapped photos with the duo protesting his family to his face.

“I couldn’t wrap my brain around it,” Ceci said, “so I just stood there and smiled. Right after, we ran out and looked at each other and just screamed.”

We’re screaming with you, Ceci and Annie. All the way to election day.
