This woman went on a bad Tinder date and then received these cringeworthy texts: ‘what’s your mattress like and do you have a squishmellows’

TikTok isn’t without its dating woes, but this woman seems to have had an especially red-flag-raising encounter.

Vivian Smalls (@viviansmalls.mp3) posted a TikTok during which she debriefs about a recent Hinge date she went on — that got even weirder after the fact.

“So, I match with this guy on Tinder and we make plans to get brunch on Saturday at noon at this place across from my apartment complex,” she explains. “Saturday at 11:30, I have not heard a word from him, so I’m thinking to myself, ‘Well, he works at the club. He was probably up late last night. If he doesn’t say anything in the next, like, five minutes I’ll just shoot him a text that says, ‘Hey, if you’re not feeling this that’s fine. I’m gonna go about my day.'”

Vivian ends up meeting her date at their agreed-upon location.

“He gives me a hug. He doesn’t say I look nice or anything, which is not necessarily a red flag, but when you add it on top of all these other things it’s just, like, hmm… telling,” she says.

While seated at their table, Vivian’s date admits he doesn’t quite know what to say to her.

“Then we sit down and we’re talking for a little bit, then he goes, ‘I can’t think of anything to ask you,’ and I said, ‘You can’t think of anything to ask me about myself?’ He said, ‘No.’ I said, ‘Not a great start,'” Vivian explains. “Then they bring us the bill and he’s like, ‘Oh, they didn’t split the bill,’ and I just say nothing…and then he turns to me and goes, ‘Or do you want me to pay for it?’ and I said, ‘I do not care what you do.'”

Vivian’s date ends up paying for the bill. They politely part ways, and Vivian assumes that’s the last she’d ever hear of him.

“We hug, I go home, I call my mom and I’m like, ‘Weird. Not gonna see him again,'” she says.

To her surprise, however, Vivian receives a text message from her date, in which he admits to “kicking myself because I was just so overwhelmed by how hot you are and I wish I was making out with you right now.”

Vivian responds, reiterating that he said he couldn’t think of anything to ask her about herself. What she receives in response is a longwinded text message with a series of questions.

“What’s your fav artist and musician and do you listen to podcasts or speakers and what’s your mattress like and do you have a squishmellows and do you like to hike or camp… idk that’s all in my head and it’s a lot,” the Tinder date writes.

“What in the 500 Days of Summer love bombing is this?!”

Vivian’s video has reached more than 426,800 viewers in just one day of posting. Naturally, fellow TikTok users have thoughts about this mystery man and his questionable post-date behavior.

“brooo why do they end a date and then act like they’re in love when the whole date was like …,” someone asked.

“can you imagine the DRAMA of dating this guy would be?!?! A soap opera every day,” another replied.

“What in the 500 Days of Summer love bombing is this?!” one TikToker joked, referencing the 2009 film.

While Vivian’s Tinder date didn’t have the greatest odds of nabbing a second date to begin with, he seems to have sealed his fate with those jarring post-date texts.
