Woman who walked into Waukesha County jail and did not know her name has been identified

Five days after she walked into the Waukesha County Jail emotionally distraught, and just a short time after the Waukesha Sheriff Department asked the public for help, a woman who did not know who she is has been identified.

The department did not immediately release the name of the woman.

Earlier in the day, it released a statement saying she had walked into the jail lobby on May 8, not knowing who she is or why she was there. The woman is white and described as between the ages of 25 and 40.

The department thanked those who assisted in the quick identification.
