Woman’s video of crowded gym starts discussion of creator-friendly gyms: ‘Couldn’t pay me to go there’

We are currently in the midst of what some call “summer shredding” season, which means that some gyms may be fuller than usual.

This problem can affect you whether you’re at a commercial gym or even more exclusive, more expensive gyms tailored towards professional athletes and content creators — as shown by TikToker Jesse Marji (@buffcheekss).

Marji, a personal trainer, posted a video of her at Alphaland — a popular mega-gym in Houston, Texas — and showed just how packed it can get in the summer.

Many viewers saw this and were turned off by the idea of going to the gym.

“With someone with social anxiety this is too much,” replied @littleladleia.

“Couldn’t pay me to go there,” commented @_gianfrancog.

Still, some people wanted to be in that environment.

“I still wanna go so bad,” replied @sarahb.fit.

Alphaland is 30,000 square feet, has three full gym areas and people call it “Disney World for bodybuilders.” Because of its amenities and clientele, Alphaland is a hotspot for creators. Having Alphaland as your home gym could be pricey depending on your budget. Membership costs $175 per month and day passes are $40 a day — which could be considered competitive pricing to other exclusive gyms around the country like Equinox or Kollective.

If content creators don’t want to go to massive fitness hubs to film their videos, there are plenty of other places they can go to shoot.

Places to workout for fitness creators

There are gyms that are built with creators in mind, while still having all the equipment needed to make a full gym. They can sign up for gyms such as Fusion Gym in Philadelphia, which has a 100-yard training turf, machines for every body group and is $70 a month.

If that is inconvenient, there are also companies like The Gym Pod that sell individual training pods for people to exercise and film in. This way, creators can have privacy and won’t have to worry about overcrowding.

These upgraded and niche options aren’t completely necessary; there are several popular fitness influencers that regularly post videos from commercial gyms. JP Gallardo (@JPGCoaching) and Joseph Oppong (@_castawayj) have numerous posts from Gold’s Gym and Fitness Connection, respectively.

While gyms like Alphaland are specifically designed for bodybuilders and influencers, fitness creators aren’t limited to simply those spaces.
