Woman Uses IKEA Kallax to Make a Totally Chic Console Table

IKEA is full of some of the most useful pieces of furniture you'll find in a store, and we all know they can be used for some truly awesome hacks. That goes double for the IKEA Kallax shelf unit and insert -- they're always being used for something new and original, and to fantastic effect! So you probably won't be surprised to see yet another twist on this well-loved piece, especially because this one has a touch of modern elegance that you really just can't beat.

Instagrammer @hopetoshopdecor took to the platform and got started on her project: a console table made with a Kallax shelf unit, four Kallax inserts with doors, four gold mirrored IKEA furniture panels, four acrylic furniture legs, and a vase with cherry blossoms. All of this came together quite easily, as you can see in the video.

She started by making sure she had everything built, and then added some gorgeous crystal legs. But what really elevated everything was the set of gold mirrored IKEA furniture panels. After everything was built up and started looking nearly complete, she added some double-sided tape to each gold mirrored panel, four apiece.

The result was one of the slickest-looking console table you'll see. The shiny gold pieces really made the rest of the unit pop, and because they were lined up along the front of the unit, it faced the entirety of the room it was placed in. It gave the Kallax that extra bit of oomph it needed to transcend simple "table" and turn into elegant decor.

You've gotta hand it to IKEA -- there's always something cool right around the corner that you can put together for your home. And this is definitely one of them!
