A woman in Toronto is set to receive a lifesaving kidney transplant from a kind stranger and is paying it forward for other patients — all thanks to the power of social media. Jennen Johnson, 42, a mother of one in Toronto, is in renal kidney failure, the result of a decades-long battle with lupus, an autoimmune disease that attacks the body’s organs and causes chest pain, labored breathing, skin lesions, facial rashes, and joint stiffening. For the 1.5 million Americans who suffer from lupus, the condition is genetic and often triggered by sunlight, various infections, or medications.
