This Woman Tried To Trick A Restaurant Into Comping Her Meal And It Totally Backfired

From Delish

Finding a hair in your food is downright disgusting. In fact, just writing about it makes us gag. And while you can't file a lawsuit over finding a strand in your dinner, most restaurants will comp your meal as an apology. And a free meal is exactly what led one Australian woman to put her own hair into a pasta dish.

While dining at Casa Nostra Ristorante, an Italian restaurant in Brisbane, the yet-to-be-identified woman failed to notice the surveillance camera capturing her every move. After placing her locks oh so carefully in her dish, the woman then showed the piece of hair in her food to a waiter.

But, as Munchies reports, there was a plot twist: The restaurant refused to give her a free meal. Mostly because it was so painfully obvious that the hair was the woman's own.

Not willing to let it go, the woman later posted a bad review of the restaurant on TripAdvisor. But Casa Nostra was ready to clap back, sharing security camera footage of the woman planting her own hair on Instagram.

In the video, someone from the restaurant narrates the series of events. And it's implied that the woman decided to pull this hair scam after the restaurant refused to let her make a menu substitution. A simple substitution wasn't the problem, but the woman wanted to combine an entrée and an appetizer while only paying for the appetizer.

And while this story is wild enough, things only get even weirder. The restaurant's owner, Sarah Biuso, said that the woman was dining with a friend who claimed to be the Duchess of the Netherlands. Let's use this incident as a learning lesson: Don't try your hand at being Joanne the Scammer.
