This Woman Started Wearing Full Glam to Spite Her Makeup-Shaming Coworker

Makeup is a fun form of self-expression (obviously) and it's no one's business but your own when it comes to how much of it you decide to wear. Unfortunately, though, some people — men in particular — still vocally judge women for wearing "a lot of" makeup, despite it being none of their goddamn business. Most recently, a Redditor revealed that her coworker said he hates when women wear heavy makeup, and so she took it upon herself to clap back in the best way possible.

The Redditor in question, who goes by TheSmeggingCompass on the forum-based site, decided to not-so-subtly bark back at her coworker simply by wearing a full face of bright makeup to work. "My experience with this coworker has been rocky from the start," she told Allure. "He made a lot of comments about my personal makeup choices that crossed the line — for instance, he told me I didn’t need to wear makeup because I had a partner already and 'didn’t need to try to impress anyone,' which really rubbed me the wrong way, so I started wearing heavy makeup to annoy him," she explained.

This included blue and pink eye shadows, false lashes, winged liner — the works. His response? "When I came in he rolled his eyes and said, 'Oh that will get a lot of looks' but I didn’t care," she said. "The rest of my coworkers loved my makeup and I got a lot of compliments from customers as well," she added.

The post on Reddit, in which she explained what happened and debuted her vibrant makeup, has already amassed more than 13,000 upvotes and garnered over 300 comments, most of which are super-supportive of her makeup and how she chose to handle the situation. "This!!! I usually use the same amount of makeup for work, just in neutral colors. He has no clue," wrote one user, while another said, "Most people who hate women with heavy makeup have no idea how much they actually just hate women."

Whether or not she was able to get through to the makeup bully, we still commend her for sticking up for herself and makeup-wearing lovers everywhere.
