When Chelsea (@kevrosehome on Instagram) sees a piece of furniture that she loves, she knows she has to make it herself. Even if it means waiting and waiting until she can find the perfect piece to get the DIY started.

While watching a scene from the TV show Outlander, Chelsea's eyes were immediately drawn to the shelving unit in the back. In this apothecary scene, a man was standing behind a counter and in front of a huge and stunning wooden shelf that covered the entire wall, complete with mini cubbies for storage. It was perfect, and Chelsea needed one.

But she had to wait to find the perfect starter piece. Being a DIY expert takes patience!

Finally, finally, she stumbled upon the foundation that would be able to hold the shelf of her dreams. Of course, thanks to Facebook Marketplace, she was able to find a sturdy shelf for only $60. A total steal! Now she could get to work.

Her first step was to dismantle the shelf into two pieces as the top would be completely transformed into the mini cubbies. The shelf was in good shape on its own but not the shade that Chelsea wanted, so she and her partner scraped the entire thing down and sanded it, eventually adding a gorgeous dark stain that completely matched the Outlander version.

Now onto the mini cubbies. Using a cutout from online, Chelsea traced and sawed out small cupboard doors out of plywood and adding the stain to those as well. They even went all out with the detail, crafting mini black hardware pieces to go on each door.

Finally, they assembled all of the pieces together and it was beyond perfect. It has such an antique, old-timey vibe and we can't get enough!

Her viewers were in awe.

"This is AMAZING," admired @christinehmcconnell. "75 years from now that will be highly sought after on your real estate sale," commented @barn_again. "People will tell some story of how it came from across the pond in the 1800s! You nailed it!"

Next time you see something you love in a TV show, maybe you can make it yourself! It's totally possible.
