Woman Miraculously Finds Beloved Cat After Ex Insisted He 'Got Rid of Him'

We've heard of plenty of people losing their pets due to unforeseen life changes. But one woman's story of not just losing her cat Bug after a bad break-up, but then finding Bug once again a year later is really a sight to be seen.

Bex recorded their miraculous reunion and shared the video in the most heartbreaking video online.

The video shows Bug carefully walking over to his mama. It had been a long time since they'd seen each other! But he seemed to know that this was his mom right away.

"My ex wouldn't let me take my cat Bug when I left," she explained in the video's text overlay. "He said he got rid of him."

"I found him a year later, roaming and hurt so I stole him back," she continued.

Look at his little tail go up as soon as he heard his mama say his name. Little Bug could clearly tell that he was finally safe.

Flash forward to today, when Bug lives with Bex and is a "happy, healthy, indoor kitty."

"I will never let go of him again," she explained.

What Is the Cat Distribution System?

Things like this one are actually not so rare. In fact, the internet has come up with a term for these strange incidents like these, it's called the "Cat Distribution System." The theory sprouted from a phenomena of cats entering strangers' homes and lives spontaneously and then becoming their pets. It happened frequently enough that people started to believe that these were all instances of cats choosing their owners, rather than the other way around.

This can happen outside the home too. The theory even applies to stray cats that approach people out in the world.

People were absolutely livid at Bex's ex. They couldn't get over what he'd done. "He didn’t even care about him he just wanted to hurt you, I’m so glad he made it home to you," wrote one person. "I dare a man to step between me and my fur baby. Glad he’s home safe," a second commenter added. "I literally gasped when I saw his boo boos," a third person chimed in. "It makes me mad that your ex was so petty that he wouldn’t give you the cat," agreed another commenter.

Bex herself chimed in that she knew her ex only took her cat to be petty to her. But now Bug is with her and "My hearts whole now that I have Bug back."
