This Woman Made A Charcuterie Board On A Plane And She Is My New Hero

From Delish

I may be biased because I have a truly insane fear of flying but...planes suck right? You're crammed in a metal tube with mostly strangers for hours at a time, not to mention dealing with delays, and turbulence, and sometimes not-so-great food. Well one woman found a way to make flying actually semi-enjoyable by bringing her own fixings for a charcuterie board that she made on her flight.

Marissa Mullen, owner of the very aptly named Instagram @thatcheeseplate, showed us why she's the charcuterie master when she posted an Instagram video (and TikTok, which is where I found it) outlining how to make your own cheese board on a flight.

I am not even sure I can bring mascara in my carry-on sometimes, but Marissa managed to bring her very own charcuterie board, as well as cheese, meat, cherry spread, blueberries, nuts, and of course, rosemary for garnish. She assembled it all on top of her tray table, and it looks so, so good.

It's safe to say people were VERY impressed.

"Genius!!!" one fan commented.

"You’ve legitimately inspired me to do this for my flight tonight!" another said.

The board was part of the hashtag #inflightcheeseplatechallenge that it appears Marissa created (and posts to often) though several people have given it the ol' college try. I CANNOT believe these were created in the air. What did I do on my last flight? Drink two mini bottles of red wine and watch A Star is Born twice, that's what!

The only thing left to do now is find a TSA-approved board and get working on your own in-flight design. May I suggest Marissa's extremely beautiful Instagram for inspiration?
