They often say truly great athletes are their own most challenging competition. For professional speed-eater Leah Shutkever, that’s literally true—at least when it comes to the Guinness World Record for the fastest time to eat a burrito. She already holds the record, but in a new video from Guinness, she sets out to break it—the kind of delicious competitive eating challenge we can fully get behind.

You may want a little bit of background to fully appreciate this video, but the gist is this: Shutkever is the current record holder as the world’s fastest burrito-scarfer.

And if you’re thinking that means she’s able to house that sweet wrapped goodness in a minute, maybe two, you’re severely underestimating her. At the start of the video, she’s sitting down to challenge her previous record, a scorching 44.20 seconds.

Shutkever, who holds several other records in competitive eating, begins with a little warm-up chat. She talks about how she doesn’t look like your image of a speed-eater, and how she wants to challenge people’s conceptions of the sport. She’s clearly nervous, mentioning how it’s tough to go up against your own record.

With a few deep breaths to warm up, she dives in. To this untrained eye, she looks very speedy indeed, but taps out on the first try, dropping the burrito remains to her plate. She gets three tries, but that’s one down. In a post-burrito recap, she explains what she thinks went wrong with her approach. But with burrito number two she also falls short. Smaller bites, she decides, and faster—that’s the only way to break her own record. Hyped and ready, she jumps face-first into her final try.
