Woman Gets the Rudest Wake up Call From Her Cockatiel ‘Alarm Clock'

Being a bird owner isn't all bird seed and pretty wings you know. There are some less glamorous parts of the job, like the singing. Oh, the singing. Sure, it can be pretty cute to hear them chirp after dinner or before a bath. But there are certain times of the day when you just need a little quiet, as one video online proved.

Kiki the Cockatiel got up bright and early to sing a song — perhaps a little too early for her owner.

She woke her owner up singing "September," by Earth, Wind, and Fire and it was not appreciated. The woman shared footage of the Cockatiel chirping her little butt off.

"Kiki, it's 7 in the morning," she said from behind the camera. "Bird!"

But Kiki wasn't going to stop. She had a song in her heart and her owner was going to hear it.

"Send help please where's the off button on parrot," she joked in the video's caption.

People in the comments section wanted to hear more of Kiki's beautiful voice. "Bro's just having some early music jams leave her alone," one person joked. "Earth Wind and Fire be hitting and when it does it can’t be stopped," another person joked. "At least she’s got good taste!! That song is a classic!" someone praised. "Better alarm than the phone," chimed in one commenter.

How to Tell if Your Cockatiel Is Happy

Every pet owner want's their animals to be happy, so how can you tell when your Cockatiel is feeling the good vibes? Singing is one way. When they're happy, birds will chatter — it's a sign that they're content. Birds will talk, sing, or even whistle when they're happy. Birds will also click their tongue when they want a little attention and to get petted.

Another way to tell that your bird is happy is if they hang upside down. Now for most of us, hanging upside down would not be a good time. But birds love it. It can typically be a sign that your bird is happy and comfortable in his environment.

The next sign might make you queasy but it's just what birds like to do. They love to regurgitate their food into their mouths. And will even offer that food to you as a sign of their love and care.

Birds will also bow or crouch their heads towards you when they're in a good mood. It's another sign that they want to be petted and trust you. Birds will also flip their tail when they're happy. It's their way of saying they're happy to see you.

We guess that's why Kiki couldn't stop singing, she was just happy to see her mama.
