One more thing to worry about as we say goodbye to 2017!

Claire’s stores, the place where you first got your ear's pierced and also bought your first sparkly tiara, had to pull some product from their shelves after a mom found asbestos in her daughter's glitter makeup kit. Yes, ASBESTOS.

People magazine reports on Kristi Warner, a Rhode Island mom who happens to work at a law firm handling cases involving contaminated cosmetics. Because of this, she decided to investigate the ingredients of her daughter's glitter makeup from Claire's, and sent it to an independent lab for testing. Unfortunately for everyone, the makeup tested positive for tremolite asbestos, which has been associated with the development of a deadly form of cancer. Yikes.

Claire's took to Twitter to say they planned to recall the makeup and share a complete list of the recalled products on their website.

“At Claire’s the safety of our customers is of paramount importance, and we are passionate about the safety and integrity of our products. We work closely with our vendors to ensure our products are tested and assessed in line with the relevant country regulations and guidelines,” the company wrote.

Umm... does this mean we all need to be sending our glitter makeup out for testing!? Because I'm just a little freaked out now. I mean, this woman only tested the makeup because of her super specific job - what about the rest of us!? Are we just running glitterbestos all over our faces on the regs? We need Erin Brockovich to get on this STAT!

And finally: Thank goodness it's not 2007, or else my entire eyeshadow collection would have to be trashed. I'm not proud, but it's the truth.
