For those of us that want that social media "aesthetic" minimalist designer home, a budget is often our barrier to entry. Instead of limiting her lack of funds, one woman got crafty and DIY'ed a console table worthy of a designer.

It's one of those fabulous pieces that would instantly become the centerpiece of any living room. If you've been dreaming of owning one but can't quite justify the hefty price tag, don't worry!

Her final result replicates the look of the Tatia Console Table by Sarah Sherman Samuel - and surprise, surprise - you can make it using plywood and PVC. No one will ever know the difference!

To start making your coffee table, decide on the size you want. You can adjust it to fit your space. The top's length and width will affect how it looks, so keep that in mind. After deciding on the size, measure and mark the plywood accordingly before cutting it with a saw.

Next, create the legs using PVC pipes. Measure and mark four equal lengths on the pipes to determine the height of your coffee table. Cut the PVC pipes into four equal-length legs using a saw.

Now, it's time to assemble the table. Place the PVC legs at each corner of the plywood, making sure they're equidistant from the edges and aligned with one another. Apply wood glue around the top rim of each PVC pipe, then press them firmly onto the plywood's underside. Allow the glue to dry before drilling pilot holes through the plywood and into the PVC legs to secure them with wood screws.

After that, sand the plywood tabletop and PVC legs using medium-grit sandpaper to smooth any rough edges. Follow up with fine-grit sandpaper for a super smooth finish. Finally, paint your table with white paint, applying multiple coats if necessary. Let the paint dry thoroughly between coats, following the manufacturer's instructions.

Voila! You now have a stunning DIY coffee table that resembles the designer version. Family and friends will be none the wiser, and you'll have the satisfaction of creating a unique, hand-crafted piece that suits your eclectic taste.
