Woman Combines These Two Stains To Create Ultimate Wood Finish

The great part about working with wood, whether that's by refurbishing wooden furniture or building something from scratch, is the fact that it doesn't need paint to shine; just some good old wood stain will do the job. And you can even customize the look.

That's what DIYer Rebekah Jo Kepha did, as she shared in her video, posted on October 18, and it's the perfect shade! Let's check it out!

Combining two different shades of wood stains to create the ultimate wood finish is a popular technique used by many woodworkers and DIY enthusiasts to achieve custom and unique results.

The specific combination and techniques can vary based on personal preference and the desired finish, of course. Rebekah here used classic gray and walnut to achieve her desired finish.

As shown in the video, she starts by applying a coat of the classic gray wood stain, using a sock for the best application.

After letting the coat dry completely, she dips into the walnut stain and applies two coats of that.

Make sure to let each coat fully dry before applying the next one.

This step is crucial to achieving the best results.

Once the stained piece of wood or wooden furniture is completely dry, you can apply a top coat to protect the wood from tear and wear, as well as make it weather-resistant.

That's all.

It can't get easier than that.

You can also use a different brown shade as your base color instead of the classic gray, depending on what kind of look you want to go for.
