The built-in look is one that is becoming super popular in home design. From built-in closet features that have spaces for shirts to hang, shelves for pants to be folded, and nooks for shoes to sit to built-in entertainment centers that are perfect to hold TVs and sections for decorations and books to be set up on.

The woman who shared this brilliant custom built-in library look equipped with a fancy sliding ladder is Pinterest user @melissaseddon14. Her page is filled with incredible highlights of some of the best DIYs, decorating ideas, and fun custom crafts.

The woman who built the bookcase started with identical shelving units that look like they came from Ikea, such as the Billy Bookcase. She stacked them on top of each other, fitting them in one specific nook of her living room. After they were all stacked in place she added decorative trim to the top and bottom, closed the gaps around the walls with caulk, and painted to blend. She attached a sliding roof at the top of the bookcase along with a fitting ladder on wheels that glided across the bookcases and floor, giving off a custom library feel.
