Woman's Extreme Incontinence Is Ruining Her Life

Shannon is suffering from incontinence, which began about 7 years ago, and she says's it is ruining her life and affecting her relationships. Can anything be done to help her lead a normal life?

Whenever she coughs, laughs, cries, or sneezes, she says she leaks urine. At first, she thought this was just a normal side effect of giving birth. The problem continued to get worse and she says she went from wearing a panty liner to having to wear a pad every day.

She says now the problem is so extreme that she constantly worries about leaking and has to change her pad 6 to 7 times a day. Shannon says the incontinence is affecting her marriage and her friendships.

"It's so embarrassing. I can't handle it," she says of the leaking. "I just feel like people look at like I'm an old lady. I'm afraid I'm going to have to deal with it for the rest of my life."

The Doctors send Shannon to see urologist Dr. Faisal Ahmed to determine if there is a solution to her problem.

After conducting a series of test, Dr. Ahmed discovers that she is not able to hold as much urine as most people, explaining that the bladder muscle that controls urination is not working properly for her. He says she has both stress incontinence and an overactive bladder.

The Doctors surprise Shannon with the news that miVIP Surgery Center will perform the surgery needed -- pending a medical evaluation -- to hopefully correct her incontinence issue, at no cost to her.
