Woman Adds Dowels and Restores Wood Grain on Thrifted Table for Chic Modern Makeover

Some thrifted pieces are the most beautiful you'll ever find. You might have to do a lot of work to get them to place where they look the way you envision them, but sometimes, the end result turns out absolutely gorgeous. And you would never know by looking at the piece when you first buy it -- but after spending some with it, it becomes fairly obvious that your new piece is harboring some inner beauty. That's what happened when this talented flipper decided to take on a new project with a beaten up old table.

YouTuber Aiswarya Babu took to the platform to share a clip of how an old table got the makeover it needed. First, they sanded it down. Then they used half round dowels to cover up the table's doors and gave it a modern look ahead of a coat of paint.

When the paint was done, they used an oil-based top coat to preserve the table's unique and beautiful wood grain design. The bottom of the table was given a glossy black treatment, and the top left bare to show off the gorgeous wood underneath. It looked like it had just been built from a kit from some sort of expensive home decor store.

And all that really needed to be done was a little bit of renovation to bring the table back to its former glory. It wasn't a difficult situation but one that brought a sparkle back to the way the table used to be.

So if you find yourself with a similar table in the future that needs some TLC, why not go back to the drawing board and put it together like this one? You may be left with a beautiful new table that's even better than when it was first built!
