A Witness Overheard Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's Emotional Wedding Vows: "They Cried to Each Other"

While it's been mere days since Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck tied the knot in Las Vegas, their road to the altar has been decades in the making. And now, we have new insight into their intimate ceremony—and their sweet bond. Kenosha Portis, an employee at A Little White Chapel in Sin City, the location of the newlyweds' nuptials, shared that the whole event was "so exciting" to witness. "I mean, we were getting ready to close and we had a special guest arrive as a walk-in. I started shaking a little bit, like, 'This is Jennifer Lopez we are getting ready to marry!'" she said on Good Morning America.

The ceremony itself was truly meaningful and sentimental for the pair. "As they were reading each other's vows, they were very sweet, they both were emotional," Portis said. "They cried to each other." Plus, the actors had the most important people in their lives by their sides as they expressed their love for each other: their children. Portis noted that their kids stood right behind them during the exchange.

As for the wedding's overarching atmosphere? Portis noted that it was an elegant affair, from the simple flowers right down to the bride's attire. "Everything was very sleek and beautiful—she was stunning," she said, referring to Lopez. "She had a beautiful, white bouquet and he had a boutonnière that matched that, as well."

Lopez personally shared her excitement about marrying Affleck and giving their love a second chance via her newsletter. "We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient… Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world," she wrote.

"We are so grateful to have that in abundance, a new wonderful family of five amazing children and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to," she added. "Stick around long enough and maybe you'll find the best moment of your life in a drive through in Las Vegas at 12:30 in the morning in the tunnel of love drive through, with your kids and the one you'll spend forever with. Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things—and worth waiting for."
