Wish is Rated Worst Disney Film in 2 Decades

Wish has the lowest review scores Disney has seen for almost two decades.

After releasing in cinemas 24 November, the company’s new feature-length animated musical managed a mere 49% aggregate score after 127 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, meaning it’s now considered a historic low point.

The movie, which pits a young woman and her wishing star pal against a tyrannical ruler, debuted with a lowly 58% score, and it’s only gone down since.

It’s the worst rating for a Walt Disney Animation Studios movie since 2005's Chicken Little, part of a turn-of-the-century slump resulted in a string of failures including Atlantis: The Lost Empire (49%), 2003's Brother Bear (37%), 2004's Home on the Range (52%).

Despite the Wish ending featuring a mindblowing connection to other Disney films, it seems nostalgic references aren’t enough to appease critics.
