This Winter Dream Job Will Pay You to Drink Irish Coffee All Over New York City

Coffee lovers know that there’s nothing better than a nice, hot cup of Irish coffee on a cold night. If we could, we’d spend the entire season sipping on our favorite drink.

Good news, coffee lovers. The perfect winter job is just a few clicks away.

Reservations.com is looking for a judge of the best Irish coffee in New York City, according to a statement made by the company on its blog. The person hired for the job will work throughout December to try out the top bars and restaurants in NYC and give their professional opinion on each establishment’s Irish coffee cocktail.

Many companies have used this method of hiring temporary reviewers to promote their brand. Guinness, for example, hired a beer reviewer to taste the best pints of Guinness in Dublin earlier in 2019. Disney also put out a job listing for a movie reviewer to watch 30 Disney films in 30 days.

The candidate will visit eight selected bars and restaurants between Dec. 10 and 17. At each place, they will order one to two Irish coffees (and maybe some snacks) in order to write their review. While they’re sipping on their cocktail, the candidate is required to simply take in the ambiance and make notes.

Once they’re ready, they will write up a 300-word review of each Irish coffee and rank their favorites once they’ve visited all the bars. It should be noted that the company requires going to these bars on separate days. Their reviews will appear on Reservations.com.

Applicants must be 21 years or older and legally authorized to work in the United States. The lucky candidate will receive $500 for the drinks and food, as well as a travel and writing stipend of $1,500.

To apply, write up a 150-200 word description of your favorite holiday beverage and setting and fill out the online form on Reservations.com. Applications are open now until Dec. 1, with the winning applicant announced on Dec. 2.
