Winnie Harlow’s LA bedroom is a light-filled, 1930s Hollywood movie star-inspired sanctuary

The Los Angeles home of supermodel Winnie Harlow is a light and airy take on minimalist design. Whilst the whole home is providing us with plenty of interior inspiration, we're taking a closer look at the luxurious bedroom.

Designed by prestigious designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, the bedroom was designed to be a relaxing sanctuary with references to 1930s glamor. Taking to Instagram, Lawrence Bullard shared a series of images of the elegant room, explaining in the post's caption that it was 'designed to be her personal haven, a sanctuary of beauty and calm, the place the globe-trotting supermodel can totally relax, revive and rejuvenate.'

Serving as the epitome of decorating with neutrals, the room features a Martyn Lawrence Bullard custom-made bed, which he explains was designed to make reference to the 1930s movie star aesthetic.

The room also incorporates lots of different textures, including a pair of boucle chairs and ottomans which promote a cozy feeling, as well as soft textured bedding, further adding to the room's feeling of comfort.

To offset the use of soft fabrics throughout the room, the space also features more robust, heavy materials. This includes a pair of bronze ceramic bedside lamps, which Lawrence Bullard explains are vintage. The room also makes use of decorating with marble, with a sculptural, rounded marble coffee table in front of the bed, which provides balance and contrast against the room's delicate feel.

Marble is a luxurious material and is perfect for creating a subtle statement in the home whilst still very much nodding to the quiet luxury trend. We spoke to Melissa Read, Creative Director at Studio Burntwood who shares her expertise on the use of marble in home design, explaining: 'Marble is synonymous with opulence and quality, its endless variations can create the most spectacular designs.'

'The huge color and veining variations can create statement designs with the use of bold colors and dramatic veining, such as Lilac or Arabescato Marble,' Read concludes.
