And the Winner of ‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 17 Is…

Drake Milligan, Chapel Hart, The Mayyas and and Kristy Sellars made the Top 5.

Tuesday night was the final night of performances and voting for American’s Got Talent Season 17 when the final 11 artists—Avery Dixon, Celia Muñoz, Chapel Hart, Kristy Sellars, The Mayyas, Metaphysic, Drake Milligan, Nicolas RIBS, Sara James, Mike E Winfield and Yu Hojin—took to the AGT stage one last time for America’s vote.

Then on Wednesday night, after a show chockful of entertainment provided by artists including Black Eyed Peas, who opened the show, Light Balance, Darius Rucker, Jon Pardi, Darci Lynne, Terry Fator, Shin Lim and Henry Winkler, the winner was announced.

“From the moment I first saw the Mayyas, their act was spectacular and gave me goosebumps,” said Sofia Vergara, who had chosen the group as her Golden Buzzer. “Their coordinated choreography was the most beautiful, creative dancing I have ever seen. Each time they competed, they continued to outdo themselves. Their empowering performances have earned them the ultimate title and I’m so proud of them and can’t wait to see what they do next.”

"Genuinely, we’ve never seen anything like this before," judge Simon Cowell told Parade after the win. "The intimacy, the imagination, the creativity, the focus, their work ethic, everything is mind blowing. They are one of the best women’s groups we’ve ever had. I said earlier on, ‘World domination!’”

And Heidi Klum added, “In my heart, I think [America] just loved the act. I think people were mesmerized and just dove right in. It was magical what they did. Especially with the LED in the back. Last night, they were in this cosmos. You didn’t know what was humans creating something or what was the background.”

Here's how the results went down:

Three-quarters of the way through the night’s entertainment, host Terry Crews revealed the artists who made the Top 5. He first called to the stage Drake Milligan and Mike E Winfield. The act still in the competition was Drake Milligan.

Next to get their results were Metaphysic and Nicolas RIBS. Only one went into the Top 5 and that was Metaphysic.

The third round of results revealed was Celia Muñoz and Kristy Sellars. Kristy Sellars filled the third spot in the Top 5.

Then The Mayyas faced off against Yu Hojin. Moving on were The Mayyas.

The final spot was a competition between three Golden Buzzers: Sara James, Avery Dixon, and Chapel Hart. Chapel Hart moved on.

“Respect to everyone in the Top 5,” judge Simon Cowell said. “You’ve seen who you’ve beaten to get here.”

After a commercial break, the act finishing in fifth place and leaving the competition was revealed to be Chapel Hart.

The act finishing in fourth place was Metaphysic. Next to leave, finishing in third place was Drake Milligan.

That left The Mayyas and Kristy Sellars. The winner of the $1 million and the headline show in Las Vegas is The Mayyas.

"We want to inspire dancers in Lebanon to keep on dreaming, to keep on working and training, because it’s not impossible no matter where you come from," Mayyas' Lara Djibian said in an interview after their win.

And Melissa Saliba added, "Believe in magic."

The dance troupe will be returning to Lebanon in a couple of days, where they will take time to process what is happening and make their future plans.

"There are 40 girls and the range is huge from 15 to 30, so we have school, we have many things going on, so we need to come back and process everything," Maryjoe Tarabay said.
