Winky Lux’s New After Dark Lip Crayon Makes Your Lips Glow Under Blacklight

If you're anything like me, you find yourself spending a lot of time under the blacklight. Just kidding — I love that Rilo Kiley album, but I don't think I've been in a black-lit environment since I was in my then-boyfriend's bedroom my senior year of high school. But thanks to Winky Lux's latest launch, I have a newfound motivation to seek out opportunities to fluoresce.

Just when I thought Winky Lux was all about mellow, low-key lip products like its newly expanded range of Matcha Lip Balms, the brand has introduced the unabashedly bold After Dark Blacklight Lip Crayon. Described as "a UV lip balm that’s half gloss, half glow stick," this remarkably moisturizing lip crayon glows an intense, bright pink when exposed to the long-wave ultraviolet light of blacklights.

The idea is super-fun, especially for those of us (read: those of you) who frequent clubs, parties, or laser-tag facilities where blacklights are a staple. But even if that's not your scene, After Dark Blacklight Lip Crayon is gorgeous under your average, everyday lighting, too. It's just as bright pink when worn sans blacklight — just not quite as glow stick-y.

Winky Lux fans on Instagram are clearly ready to live that blacklight life. The brand has been teasing the new lip product for less than a week, but commenters have expressed unbridled enthusiasm. One wrote, "Ooooh a game changer," while another said, "Sooo cool!" And one commenter predicted, "This is going to fly off shelves!!!!!!! damn this is so cool."
