For the 2021-2022 NBA season, basketball imprint Spalding handed off the reins back to Wilson to be the league's official game ball manufacturer again. And for the second year of its rekindled partnership, Wilson has teamed up with the professional hoops entity to honor each of its teams with a special City Edition basketball assemblage and coincide with Nike's City Edition Jersey announcement.

The Chicago-based sporting equipment company pays homage to each of the 30 squads by taking important aspects of their respective city cultures and implementing them into their designs. Each franchise is given two types — one being a Collector's ball and the other being a standard variation. One stand-outs from the range include the Detroit Pistons which bears a color palette symbolic of Saint Cecilia’s — a historic gym where NBA greats such as Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Jalen Rose and others have graced the church gym floor to play pick-up. Others include the LA Lakers version which brings back its iconic script logo, the LA Clippers which shouts out the Drew League, the Golden State Warriors which comes adorned with a rose to represent women empowerment, the Houston Rockets which calls out its retro pinstriped uniforms and the Memphis Grizzles which features bold font to reference the city's strong hip hop culture.

The Collector's versions are priced at $75 USD while the standard versions will run you $26 USD, all of which will be stocked via Wilson's site.
