Wilmot Mountain Announces $5 Rentals For Re-Opening

Vail's Midwestern resort, Wilmot Mountain, briefly shut down to maximize snowmaking potential after poor weather conditions forced the mountain to stop letting people ski their resort.

But just days later, officials at Wilmot announced that "just like we promised, we are back!"

"Lifts spin, Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 3 p.m.🎉 To celebrate, we are offering $5 rentals to welcome guests back!"

This welcome back comes after the difficult decision to pause operations on December 18th to maximize snowmaking potential.

Luckily, the shut down didn't last more than a couple days, and the mountain re-opens today, December 20th, just 2 days after the pause in turning lifts.

The mountain currently has a 5 inch base, but apparently that's enough to open today.

As a bonus, the resort is offering $5 rentals, a service they offer throughout the season (always after 3pm).

The $5 rentals are aimed at night skiing, and Wilmot lights up a pretty sweet terrain park during that time.

Of course opening day is a great reason to offer the deal, signaling more night skiing--and 5 dollar skis--to come!

Today, guests can look out for "terrain and lift access [that] will be shared in the morning. You can also find that information on the My Epic App and our website!"

We hope everyone near Wilmot gets to the hill today!

"PS: Please thank a snowmaker and a groomer when you see them!"
