Wilmington Greek Festival: What you need to know about food, parking and tickets

One of Wilmington's popular and longest running events ― the Wilmington Greek Festival -- is celebrating its 32nd year.

As the in-person festival once again prepares for large crowds, here are three things to know.

About the festival

The grounds of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church will be the go-to place for all things Greek. There will be a full array of Greek dishes ― Greek-style lemon chicken, leg of lamb, moussaka, lamb and chicken gyros, moussaka and more. Also don't forget about the Greek pastries. To quench your thirst, there will be traditional Greek wines and beer, soft drinks, water and more. Besides the food, there will be award-winning dancers in costumes accompanied by a live Greek band. There will be new gift shops, specialty items, bookstore, a Greek market and tours of the historic St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox sanctuary.

The festival, which benefits the Good Shepherd Center and University of North Carolina Wilmington Hawks Harvest, will be held 11 a.m.-10 p.m. May 17-18 and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. May 19. Drive-thru services available until 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and until 5 p.m. Sunday. No animals allowed. The church is located at 608 S. College Road (across from UNCW).
