Willy Wonka-Themed Restaurant to Open in Universal Orlando

Soon anyone can visit Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory—no golden ticket required.

Universal Orlando is opening a Willy Wonka-inspired restaurant, called the Toothsome Chocolate Factory. It promises to "transport you into a 19th-century-inspired steampunk chocolate factory” complete with "towering smoke stacks, funky gadgetry,” and, hopefully, lickable wallpaper, according to the official Universal Orlando blog. To keep in line with the theme, the factory staff will be outfitted in “unique Steampunk fashion,” however there is no word on if they would be Oompa Loompahs. The new chocolate lovers’ paradise will features Wonka-inspired ice cream concoctions like a Chocolate x5 milkshake and a Salted Caramel Flan sundae. Pro tip: maybe avoid blueberries. While the restaurant will certainly cater to those with a sweet tooth, it will also help diners round out the meal with "unique twists on classic steak, seafood and pasta entrees, gourmet burgers, sandwiches, incredible salads, all-day brunch and so much more." The new restaurant is slated to open later this year at Universal CityWalk, the retail and entertainment district located right outside the park. That is good news for chocolate enthusiasts who work up an appetite at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter or any of the park’s newest attractions, as well as for anyone who doesn’t want to pay park admission every time they are craving a red velvet milkshake topped with a red velvet cupcake.
