Williams-Sonoma Is Hiring Thousands of Remote Workers for the Holidays

Now that we're past Halloween, it's time to start planning for the upcoming holidays. As we contemplate all the gifts to give to friends and family, the new decor to purchase for our homes, and all the delicious dishes to be cooked, we're also thinking about how nice it would be to have some extra cash for the most wonderful time of the year. This season, there actually is a way to make some extra money in the comfort of your own home thanks to Williams-Sonoma.

Just in time for the holiday hustle, the kitchenware company is looking to fill about 2,500 remote customer service positions, according to FlexJobs. Williams-Sonoma has already begun hiring for the seasonal offerings, and will continue to do so through November. "Our associates are our lifeline so when they talk, we listen," Josh Layton, Williams-Sonoma recruiting manager, tells FlexJobs. "As we look to expand into new territories throughout the country, our target is to eventually provide our associates an opportunity to take their job with them wherever they go."

The job descriptions vary depending on the position, but some of the responsibilities include: handling customer questions, placing orders, facilitating returns, checking inventory, and providing project information. To be considered for one of these positions, candidates need to have a computer with high-speed internet, a camera for "live virtual interaction," and a headset, which are sold for as little as $23, that can be plugged into your device.

If you're hired, before you get working, you'll first undergo three weeks of paid training. (But don't worry, you'll get to do it at home.) After that, hours range from 30 to 50 hours per week, and the pay is $12 an hour. The company does pay for overtime hours. (Most people work five days a week for 40 hours, including one weekend day.) You'll also be able to take advantage of a 40% store discount, which you can use to spoil a loved one or yourself for a job well done.

To apply, head to the FlexJobs website and scroll through the listings to find something that works for you. Williams-Sonoma hasn't announced when the hiring process will end, so apply as soon as you can if you feel like you're a good fit.
