William And Kate Are In 'Total Shock' After Meghan And Harry’s Interview

It’s officially *checks calendar* day three since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s tell-all interview with Oprah hit, and to put it quite plainly, the rest of the royal fam is in a state of disbelief rn. Buckingham Palace released a statement yesterday saying that they were “saddened” by the treatment Meghan and Harry said they received while performing their senior royal duties, but now, a source is coming forth with info on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s personal feelings about the interview.
“William and Kate were in total shock after hearing what Meghan and Harry said,” a source told Us Weekly. “What shocked them the most was Meghan’s suicidal thoughts and their quotes on a royal family member mentioning Archie’s skin color. William and Kate knew about some of their troubles with palace aides but nothing to this extent.”
Will and Kate “feel horrible” for Meghan and Harry but reportedly “still wish” they “had not tried to take down the royal family” on television. “William and Kate feel that these conversations could have been made in private,” the Us source added.
This isn’t too different from the update that royal reporter Katie Nicholl gave Entertainment Tonight recently. Nicholl revealed that Will was pretty distraught by the interview and Kate felt awful that she played such a big part (see: Meghan saying Kate made her cry before her wedding).
“William is devastated by this interview,” Nicholl told the outlet, adding, “Don’t forget that the Duchess of Cambridge is being dragged into this whole saga and William will hate that, and…relationship between father and son is of course at an all-time low. I think that the idea that Kate’s being dragged into this will be upsetting for Kate, who behind the scenes has tried really hard to be a peacemaker between William and Harry. She has been deeply saddened by the brothers’ falling-out. Don’t forget she was incredibly close to Harry herself.”
In conclusion: Don’t anticipate a shortage of royal drama anytime soon.
