'The Wilds' Star Sophia Ali: 'I Feel Empowered And Vulnerable When I’m Naked'

I love art. I love making it—I paint with watercolors, and I just got into graffitiing furniture—and I love buying it and displaying it at home. But I can’t carry my house around, so it’s cool that I can put art on my body. I’m like a canvas.

I got my first tattoo in my teens. It’s a four-leaf clover on my ribs, right under my left breast. The decision was an impulsive one, but the tattoo does have some significance: I was given a four-leaf clover by a really good friend for luck before I moved out to L.A. Also, you’re lucky if you get to see it.

But the tattoo that means the most to me is the one on my left knee. It’s a rose being held up by three cherubs. I got it in memory of my grandma, who passed. Her name was Razia, but everyone called her Rosie. It took the artist four hours to ink and was really painful. I fainted afterward!

At this point, I’ve lost count of my tattoos. For me, tattoos are a form of creative expression, so when I’m naked, I feel both empowered and vulnerable.
