Wild Video Shows Brewery Employee Flung Across Room by Geyser of Beer

Astonishing footage shows a Minnesota brewer being thrown across the room by a furious stream of IPA.

Back Channel Brewing Co. posted the video to Instagram on February 10. It shows one of their employees, identified only as Brendan, getting blown off his feet when a torrent of beer escapes from a valve and hits him in the face. To his credit, Brendan immediately pulls himself up from the puddle of beer, and goes about trying to staunch the geyser of brew pelting him in the face.

Other employees rush to assist, but they hang back when they realize the sheer force of the spewing beer. According to the timestamp, this occurred just after 9 am on January 23. While the brewery confirmed to KARE 11 that Brendan survived the ordeal with no injuries, they didn’t specify if he helped himself to a pint afterwards.

One would imagine he did though, if only for research purposes. A limited batch of the powerful brew, appropriately titled Blow Back, is now on tap at Back Channel. “This is hands down the best advertisement I’ve ever seen,” @thejack607 wrote in the video’s comments.

Other commenters were more sympathetic to Brendan. “Imagine driving home after that,” @8marcus9 wrote. “Jesus Christ, I hope he’s okay,” said another.

“Reminds me of the scene where Shrek fights all of the knights and breaks the beer barrels open,” wrote one astute viewer.

You can try Blow Back for yourself if you happen to be near Back Channel Brewing’s location in Spring Park, MN.
