Wild Side: Painted turtle visits from Great Plains Nature Center

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Great Plains Nature Center Director of Educational Programs Emily Davis brought in a painted turtle to KSN’s Wild Side on Tuesday afternoon.

Davis says the turtles get their names from their colors.

“They have those beautiful yellow stripes all over their head and their legs, and then the bottom of them is just that beautiful, bright red or orange that they have on their tummies,” said Davis.
