If you think you don't need an outdoor camera—or have one and rarely check the footage on it—allow the clips ahead to change your mind. Sweet—and shocking!—things could be happening in your front yard without you even knowing. A quick watch of these unbelievable captured-from-America's-front-lawn clips might convince you that you need the peace of mind a ring camera provides—or, at the very least, the unexpected entertainment one can provide. There's so much to see that the whole-home security brand has set up a YouTube channel featuring a range of Ring Doorbell videos.

Without the footage on the feed, who would have believed the homeowner who swore a black bear tried to break into their chicken coop? But they've got the video to prove it, and the camera doesn't lie.

Then there's the raccoon getting scared off by a cat, which is the perfect Venn diagram of hilarious and adorable.

It's not all Animal Planet over on the channel, though. There are plenty of fun human tricks, too, like this supersweet video of a kid showing off some dance moves in front of a Ring camera.

Some Ring Camera videos are tearjerkers, too. When a college student told her dad that she watched their feed when she got homesick, he started leaving video messages just for her to see. Come on, how sweet are these greetings and life updates?

And then there are the videos that are less sweet than shocking. Proving that this technology is a must, the WatchMojo.com YouTube channel has shown thieves rummaging through mail and stealing packages. You'll also find a disturbed man licking someone's entire video doorbell—yuck!

Who can forget the runner during the Boston Marathon who was caught doing a number two in a stranger's yard. In the clip that went viral on Twitter, it appears the homeowner stared the intruder down, eventually prompting the marathoner to leave the yard and get back to the race.

It's a (gross) reminder that, without a security system, you never really know what's going on around your home.

Are you finally convinced to install a Ring Doorbell of your own? Depending on the model, Ring can go as low as $38.99—which is a whopping 40 percent from the original price. However, if you prefer the latest model, you'll only have to shell out an affordable $99.99 to enjoy the peace of mind of knowing exactly what's happening in your public restroom at-home zoo yard.
