There’s A WILD Baby Boom Happening At A Hospital In Maine—And This Photo Proves It
Nine labor and delivery nurses at a Maine hospital are all pregnant at the same time and are all due to give birth between April and July.
On Monday, the hospital, Maine Medical Center, shared a photo on Facebook featuring eight of the nine nurses, proudly showing off their bumps and holding cards with their due dates.
According to research, baby booms like this one don't just happen by coincidence.
Nine nurses, all of whom work in the labor and delivery unit of one Maine hospital, are all pregnant at the same time and are all due to give birth between April and July. Ummm, are you thinking what I'm thinking? That there has to be something in the water over there?
In case you were wondering: Yes, pregnancy can actually be contagious, at least according to research that found that the decision to have a child can be positively influenced by your social networks. (So yeah...it's probably not the water.)
Regardless of the cause, this photo of eight of the nine pregnant nurses proudly showing off their baby bumps and holding cards with their due dates (one is even having twins!) is sure to make you smile.
As if the photo isn't enough proof that the mamas-to-be are excited to be going through it all together, they're not afraid to share their feels with the world.
"It's really nice coming to work and seeing other people who are just as pregnant and watching their bellies pop and just talking about these experiences that we are going through together," nurse Amanda Spear told WMTW.
Another nurse, Samantha Giglio, who unlike many of the women is pregnant for the second time, told News Center Maine, "It was more exciting each time seeing who else was pregnant." She also added, "It's comforting knowing we'll be taking care of each other." After all, they are pros at doing just that given they work in the labor and delivery unit.
Okay, but real talk, what happens when all of a sudden nine nurses are all on maternity leave? Don't worry, the hospital has it covered, noting on Facebook that there are 80 registered nurses currently working in the labor and delivery unit. Phew.
One thing that's definitely not uncertain? Each mama to be is downright glowing in that photo.
