The Wiggles are back in an all-new YouTube series aimed at helping kids learn in a fun way. The new series, Wiggle and Learn, teaches children language development, math, social skills, health, world understanding, and more.

Along with the Wiggles’ characters, including hosts Dorothy the Dinosaur and Wags the Dog, kids will get to see another familiar face: Ms. Rachel.

Details on Ms. Rachel’s role on the May 17, 2024 episode—aka the “Preschool Episode”—are being kept under wraps. But the episode will help families prepare for preschool, a big milestone that can sometimes feel scary for kids and parents alike.

"This episode aims to familiarize children with the types of activities they can expect when attending pre-school, making the transition smoother and more enjoyable,” says Anthony Field, The Wiggles’ founder who is also Blue Wiggle. “We've also incorporated songs that preschool teachers can use to encourage children to participate in routine activities, such as tidying up their toys [and] washing hands."

The series also dives into other relatable themes that children experience, such as exploring various emotions, while focusing on foundational learning. With 20 hours of content, season one features 40 episodes on The Wiggles YouTube channel shared every two weeks.

“Each episode is crafted to encourage young viewers to engage with basic numeracy by counting up to 20 and to develop literacy skills by singing the alphabet,” says Field. “This approach aligns with established educational practices, emphasizing the critical role of music in aiding the early development of reading and writing skills—a domain where The Wiggles have consistently excelled.”

Launching on YouTube was a response to the Wiggles expanding viewership on the platform; there are more than 3.41 million subscribers to date. What’s more, the new series is being described as more intimate as it’s allowing kids to get to know each Wiggle separately. It’s a reason Field believes kids all over will enjoy Wiggle & Learn even more.

“This personalized approach invites kids to be part of the excitement, participating in songs, dances, and a journey of discovery of the world around them,” says Field. “It's this interactive and inclusive format that we anticipate will captivate our young audience, making learning an enjoyable and memorable adventure.”

Believe it or not, The Wiggles have been around since 1991. The longtime popular children’s entertainment group has sold more than 30 million albums and DVDs, and has more than two billion music streams. The Wiggles continue to be a huge part of kids' lives around the world.
