Zac Efron isn't letting a little health slip-up keep him from promoting his latest flick!

While stopping by Rockefeller Center in New York City to chat with Today's Craig Melvin, alongside co-stars Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, and Stanley Simons, about his new film The Iron Claw, the actor sported a bizarre accessory inside the soundstage, which turned out to be more than a statement piece.

"So, Zac Efron is a legitimate, bonafide Hollywood superstar, but that is not why he's wearing sunglasses this morning in the studio," Melvin began, addressing the elephant in the room right from the get-go as the camera turned to the group.

"No, I'm sorry man," Efron replied, bringing his hand to the edge of the glasses. "I feel weird being in shades." After all, the Hairspray alum wasn't wearing them for vanity—in fact, he was undoubtedly the odd one out as a result. But, unfortunately, as he revealed, he's fighting an eye infection at the moment, requiring a bit of extra protection.

"But I really wanted to be here," he emphasized, slapping White on the knee. "It's such a good movie, and I wanted to come see you guys and tell everyone about it."

While he didn't elaborate on his formal diagnosis, infections affecting the eyes often cause sensitivity, so wearing sunglasses can be helpful in minimizing the amount of bright light entering his eye in addition to providing a physical barrier from dust and other particles in the air that might cause additional irritation.

Hopefully they're working, and he's feeling better soon!
