Why You'll Want to Travel to Dahlonega, Georgia, This June

Dahlonega, Georgia, is the perfect Christmas town thanks to a festive parade, a Hallmark-worthy tree-lighting ceremony, and an inviting downtown. But did you know it's a dreamy spring oasis, too?

Lavender lovers, take note: This June 15th, the Red Oak Lavender Farm will celebrate its 5th Annual Lavender Festival on their picturesque grounds. With 20 different varieties of lavender and 2,000 lavender plants, Red Oak is the largest lavender farm open to the public in the entire state.

Highlights of the festival include live music, art vendors selling wares ranging from pottery to photography, live demonstrations of wool spinning and de-budding lavender, and the chance to wander and take photographs amidst the lavender. For additional money, you can also participate in make-and-take activities including lavender halos, bath salts, and lavender bud necklaces as well as a "U-Pick Lavender Bouquet" with 25 stems.
