Why You Won't See Tarek on Screen With Heather in Season Two of "Selling Sunset"

From House Beautiful

Netflix star Heather Rae Young returns next week to the streaming giant for the hotly-anticipated second season of Selling Sunset. As the new season of the hit reality show unfolds on screen, so does Heather's real-life relationship with HGTV's Tarek El Moussa.

Since we last saw Heather on camera, she has embarked on a whirlwind romance with the Flip or Flop star. After a romantic European vacation, Tarek officially welcomed Heather into the family over the holidays. The happy couple recently moved in together in a new house in Newport Beach to begin their "next chapter." It's been less than a year, but when you know, you know.

"When I first started filming season two, we had just started dating," Heather told House Beautiful in a recent interview. "So you see the beginnings of our relationship unfold on camera, and me talk about him and my relationship with the children, and how they welcomed me."

As the drama plays out, one person who you won't actually see on screen is Tarek, who could not appear on the show due to his contract. That wasn't enough to stop him from becoming a hot topic of discussion among the real-life team at The Oppenheim Group.

"You see a lot of like who judged me, who made comments about Tarek and me moving so fast," Heather reveals of season two. "So you'll see some inside on that of what the girls think about my relationship."

But Heather did recently tape her first on-camera appearance with Tarek for his new HGTV solo show, Flipping 101.

"I was able to film a whole episode with him on Flipping 101, which was really fun, because that was our first time being on camera together," Heather told House Beautiful about the experience. "And we had the best time on camera. We have great chemistry."

In the meantime, the realtor associate is "learning so much about flipping homes" from Tarek. And from the sound of it, the couple is laying the foundation for yet another adventure together: their very own show.

"I'm learning through Tarek how to design homes, how to flip homes, how to knock down this wall to make it this," Heather says. "Things that I never knew before. And he walks me through how to do all that. I would love to keep learning with Tarek, and he learns from me — my L.A. style. We would love to do a show together. It just has to be the right time."
