Why a White Jacket Should Be Your Next Spring Buy

By Megan Gustashaw.

It's easy to get dressed and look great in the spring, mostly because you get to rely on lightweight jackets to do all the heavy lifting in the style department. A T-shirt and jeans looks basic on its own but, add a well-fitting, stylish jacket into the mix, and you've got a proper outfit on your hands. This spring we're feeling pared down jackets in shades of white. Nylon coach jackets look great with sweats, sneakers, and other athletic staples. Cotton shirt jackets with patch pockets on the front were made for artists who spend most of the day in the studio—or who dream of doing so. You could even do a white denim jacket if you don't want to veer too far from classic. Either way, you'll look modern as hell. Unlike your favorite olive field jacket or navy Harrington coat, these buys don't rely too heavily on the past for style points. Think of them like the best kind of blank slate for wardrobe; just in time for the most stylish season of the year.
