There are homes fit for a king or queen, and then there are homes fit for the greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan. The legendary Chicago Bulls player has been trying to sell his mansion in Highland Park, Illinois for a while—12 years to be exact.

However, there have so far been no takers on the property. The 56,000 square-foot home has nine bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, a gym, an NBA-sized basketball court, a putting green, a theater and many other amenities. No the home is not exactly R. Kelly’s “Chocolate Factory” mansion, but it definitely has potential for someone with the right amount of income.

The massive mansion is located in Highland Park, Illinois, a suburb just outside of Chicago, and has been on the market since 2012. Michael Jordan moved into the home in 1994.

The Gate

The number 23 is so symbolic that everyone should know whose home they are about to right from the gate. But quick question: Should the new homeowner keep the gate design or scrap it?

Driveway

One could only imagine the number of cars Jordan had outside of his home when he was dominated the NBA in the 1990s.

A Big Backyard

Jordan’s kids (Marcus, Jeffrey, and Jasmine) had plenty of space to play outside in this massive backyard. But then again, when your father is a multi-millionaire, chances are your outside play looks a little different from the average child.

Yes, Even A Pond

Although the property is full of flashy and cool amenities, it can be calm, too. As you can see, the pond is surrounded by trees and is also filled with fish, according to the house’s details.

Basketball Court

Is it a shock to anyone that the greatest basketball player of all time has an NBA-sized court in his home? I know he spent a lot of time at the Bulls facility, but I’m sure there are times he just wanted to put up some shots at home.

Cigar Lounge

If you know anything about MJ, you know that the man loves his cigars. So it’s no surprise he has his own cigar room decked out in cigar browns.

Pool Pavillion

Everyone loves to relax during a nice day at the pool. So of course MJ had a whole pavilion that he could relax at with his family. This is absolutely not your average pool house and why would it be?

Dining area

When you’re a world-class athlete, you also need a world-class kitchen and dining area. Peep the marble. Peep the fixtures. Peep the white on white.

Common Area

While Jordan didn’t have the biggest family, he was also a guy who was known to be friend’s with a lot of other athletes and celebrities, so he definitely needed an area to host guests and friends.

Meeting Room

How many mansions do you know with executive-level conference rooms? An athlete of MJ’s stature and popularity of course needed to make a plethora of business deals, so it only makes sense that he would have this.

Theater

There is no doubt that MJ wouldn’t be able to walk into any theater in the Chicago area without being hounded and harassed for autographs. With that in mind, it only makes sense that he needed an at-home theater to have a movie night with capacity for 20 or so people.

A Full Gym

Jordan’s work ethic and drive is legendary. There is no doubt he put a lot of hard hours in at this gym during the off season.

Wine Cellar

From the looks of this massive wine cellar, MJ was definitely enjoyed his wine. Red or white?

Infinity Pool

Remember that pool house? Well this is the pool, and it looks even better with some soft nighttime lighting.

Tennis court

A tennis court fit for Serena Williams. Why not?

Putting Green

If MJ could play golf everyday, he probably would. He famously would go golfing everyday during the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, and it is the sport he is most known for—outside of basketball of course.

Trophy Room

How many people need a trophy room? It’s empty and barren now, but one could only imagine what the trophy room looked like when MJ lived in this home. The man has won six championships, six finals MVPs, five regular season MVPs, three All-Star Game MVPs, a defensive player of the year award, and a Rookie of the Year Award.
