Taylor Swift skipped tonight's Grammy Awards, a move that was perhaps in part because none of her eligible Reputation singles ("Look What You Made Me Do" and "...Ready For It?" both released before the Grammy 2018 cutoff date of September 30, 2017) were nominated for any awards nor was Swift announced as a performer.

Swift was up for three Grammys tonight: Best Written Song for Visual Media for her and Zayn Malik's "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" and Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "Better Man," the song she wrote for Little Big Town. "Better Man" won for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, so Swift's music got one Grammy nod, but the award was announced during the Grammys' pre-show.

Swift and Malik's song lost out to Lin-Manuel Miranda's "How Far I'll Go" (sang by Auli'i Cravalho in Moana) while in the Best Country Song category, Swift and Little Big Town lost out to Mike Henderson and Chris Stapleton's "Broken Halos".

Swift wasn't the only nominated artist to skip out on the ceremony: both Justin Bieber and Swift's good friend Ed Sheeran skipped the show, too. Swift's last Grammy plus one from the 2016 awards, her close friend Selena Gomez, was also absent tonight.
