Tarek El Moussa and Christina Hall

While both Tarek El Moussa and Christina Hall are married to different people right now, Tarek took a moment to reflect on what led to the end of his marriage with Christina in a revealing new interview.

Tarek shared in a new episode of The Jeff Fenster Show that he struggled with his emotions and mental health in the 2010s as he was treated for cancer. The reality TV star was diagnosed with both thyroid and testicular cancer in 2013.

"All my levels were off. I was dealing with anxiety, panic attacks depression," he said. "I was living in turmoil for years, and ultimately that turmoil led to my divorce. Looking back, I wasn't the best husband. I wasn't the best father. I wasn't the best son. I wasn't the best friend. I just wasn't the best human."

He also shared for the first time that—after he and Christina split in 2016, with their divorce finalized in 2018—he lived in a halfway house for a time.

"I didn't trust myself to be alone. That's how bad I was. The reason I ended up there is because I didn't know where to go and I needed 24-hour care. I'd lost everything, it felt like overnight," Tarek explained, calling that time period his "rock bottom."

But the 42-year-old appears to be doing much better now, with Tarek proclaiming in the interview, "Today I'm happier than I've ever been."
